Pastor Douglas Elsey
Pastor Douglas Elsey joined the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church as the Senior Pastor in January of 2009.
Pastor Elsey graduated from Newbold College in England with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 1991. After coming to the United States to marry his wife Sherri, whom he met while she was studying at Newbold, he became the Youth Pastor at the Redlands, California, SDA Church in 1992. He and Sherri have three children: Marcus, Lyndsey, and Kaleigh.
Pastor Elsey earned his M.Div degree at Andrews University in 1997 and returned to the Redlands Church for another three years before being called to be the senior pastor at the Yucaipa (California) Adventist Church in 2000. From there, he was called to be the pastor of the Mt. Ellis Adventist Church in 2005. A member of his youth group from the Redlands congregation, Luke Self, served as his associate pastor. Beginning in 2005 Pastor Elsey also began serving as chaplain for Mt. Ellis Academy in Bozeman, Montana. He continued in these duties until his call to New Haven SDA Church.
Pastor Mark Tamaleaa
Pastor Mark joined the pastoral team at New Haven on January 1st, 2019. Prior to being at New Haven he was the Director of youth and young adult ministries for the Northern New England Conference of SDA's in Maine.
Pastor Mark describes himself saying, "There are three priorities in my life that have shaped me and made me who I am today. My dear wife mindy of 23 years and our four children, my love for people, and my love for Jesus! I pray for an opportunity to meet you and your family. Pastor Kyle and his wife Annie joined New Haven May 27th, 2016.
Pastor Kyle was born in the Chicago area, and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
Prior his coming to New Haven, Pastor Kyle studied Theology at Union College in Lincoln Nebraska. During his time there he Interned at three churches; Spencer SDA Church in Spencer, IA. Des Moines SDA Church, in Des Moines, IA. And lastly, College View SDA Church in Lincoln, NE. Through those experiences Pastor Kyle discovered he had a passion for working with young people, specifically youth and collegiate age young adults.
Pastor Kyle feels blessed to be working with the Children's ministries, Youth ministries, and Collegiate ministries at New Haven. He also is the lead pastor and speaker for Seven, our Friday night contemporary service. His greatest desire is to teach young people the love of God through community in Jesus Christ.
